Pastor's Corner - Work Day!

Dear Friends,

This past Saturday, May 15th, we had our first work day at the new church property. My heart was filled with gratitude as over 75 volunteers showed up to help beautify the property and get it ready for us to begin our ministry. Thank you to all of you that came out to serve!

This Saturday, May 22nd, we have another opportunity to serve. This work day will be more focused in its scope so we are asking folks to please

sign up

to serve in a specific spot. The work day begins at 8am. Please come if you are able.

Also, last week we rolled out our new logo. I hope you have had a chance to see it. To learn more, please read

Finally, what a blessing it has been to dive into the Psalms in our new sermon series. The psalms are nourishing to the soul. Check out these quotes from church history that remind us the importance of the psalms in our corporate and personal worship:

John Calvin said,

"I have been accustomed to call this book, I think not inappropriately, An Anatomy of the Soul; for there is not an emotion of which anyone can be conscious that is not here represented as in a mirror."

The church father Athanasius of Alexandria said,

"The Psalms have a unique place in the Bible because most of the Scripture speaks to us, while the Psalms speak for us.”

One theologian remarked,

“For every condition, there is a psalm.”

The Psalms help us worship and encourage us in our walk with God and remind us that life is not perfect. It can be messy and hard and we need words -

biblical words

 - to help us wrestle with the sinful world in which we live.

Join us as we walk through Psalms 38-50 this summer.

See you Sunday!

By His grace and to His praise,

Pastor Wilson
