Pastor's Corner - Upcoming Retreats

Dear Friends,Please be in prayer this weekend as many of our women will be in Birmingham studying God's Word and enjoying fellowship together at their retreat. Pray for Christina Fox who will share God's Word with them. Pray also for traveling mercies as they make their way down and back over the weekend. In just four weeks, our men will head to Lake Guntersville for their annual retreat. If you have not signed up, you can do so here. The retreat will be February 22-23 and the theme will be Intentional Manhood: Establishing Godly Priorities. Our guest speaker will be my long time friend Dr. John Perritt. John is the Director of Resources for Reformed Youth Ministries (rym.org) and has served in student ministry for over 15 years. He is the host of The Local Youth Worker podcast and co-host of the Parenting Today podcast. He has published Your Days Are Numbered (2016), What Would Judas Do? (2017) & Time Out: The Gift or god of Youth Sports (2018). He also has three forthcoming books: Insecure: Fighting Our Lesser Fears with a Greater One (May 2019), The Gospel-Centered Life in Mark for Students(August 2019), and Not If, But When: Preparing Our Children for Worldly Images (August 2019). He and his wife, Ashleigh, have five children and live in Ridgeland, MS.I know that this topic will be important as men look to be intentional in all the areas that God has called us to be faithful and intentional. Please be in prayer for the event. And oh by the way, I hear that steak will be served Friday night of the retreat!See you Sunday!by His Grace and to His Praise,Wilson
