Pastor's Corner - Pray for Men's Retreat

Dear Friends,
This weekend about 50 of our men will gather for a retreat at Camp Maranatha on Lake Guntersville. Please be in prayer for us and for the men who will be on this retreat. On this retreat we will seek to tackle a tough subject: purity. In a world that preys on men with sensuality at every turn, godly men are called now, more than ever, to pursue righteousness and godliness in this area. Please pray that God would protect us, that God would grow us, that we would live upright and godly lives in this present age (Titus 2:12).Pray that fathers would be faithful to train their sons to flee sexual immorality and turn to Christ. Pray that husbands would love their wives as Christ loves the Church. Pray that the world, the flesh and the devil would be bound and the Holy Spirit would rule the hearts of our men.Ladies, wives and daughters, I would like to specifically ask you to pray and lift up our men this weekend. It is my hope that our men would come home this weekend with tools and resources to help protect themselves and their homes. You can be a great encouragement by helping to monitor and set up some basic tools to protect the men in your home in this digital age. Below are some great website and tools to aid your family in this endeavor.Overall, pray that God's grace, mercy and love would empower our men this weekend to be more like Christ.“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.”  (Titus 2:11–14 ESV)See you Sunday!Your friend and pastor,Wilson
