Pastor's Corner - New Year Sermon Series

Dear Friends,Happy New Year everyone! I hope that your holidays were joyful and restful. I know that Christmas time at Cornerstone is one of my favorite times of the year. It was a joy to worship and be with you to celebrate the birth of our Savior. With a new year, we will begin a new sermons series on the first four chapters of the book of Revelation. We say the book of Revelation, and some even mistakenly call it "Revelations", but actually, it is a letter. Revelation is the Apostle John's letter to the worldwide Church to encourage them and prepare the for the second coming of our Lord.Perhaps no other book of the Bible has caused more confusion and dissension than this book. Mainstream American Evangelicalism has done great harm to the interpretation of this book over the past 100 years. My hope is that as we study this letter, we too will be encouraged at our Lord's coming, but also clear up any confusion about the meaning and purpose of Revelation. The first chapter gives us a very vivid picture of Jesus the Prophet, Priest and King. In the second and third chapters, we will study what Jesus has to say to His Church. The fourth chapter will give us our first glimpse into the throne room of heaven where we catch a glimpse of the eternal reality that exists right now ... the Lord God Almighty who is holy, holy, holy, who rules and reigns over this world and over His Church. I cannot wait to dive into this study with you.The are many exciting programs, events and activities coming up in 2018. Please read the announcements below carefully so that you can take advantage of these opportunities to grow in your faith and fellowship with other brothers and sisters in Christ. Specifically, be in prayer for our youth and our women as they prepare to go on their respective retreats coming up.As we begin 2018, there are many things we are praying for in our church leadership but also as a body. Specifically, would you pray that God will continue to guide the facility search committee and that He would bring about a location that would be suitable for Cornerstone to have a Gospel impact in the Huntsville community for years to come. Also, we are praying that God would raise up someone to serve our children as the Children's Ministry Coordinator and someone to serve our youth as the next Youth Pastor. Pray that God would be preparing the hearts and the families of those whom He will call.Looking forward to worshiping our God and our King with you in this new year! See you Sunday!Your friend and pastor,Wilson
