Dear Church Family and Friends,
This Sunday is the final Sunday of Advent. We will finish our study of The Prologue in John's Gospel, verses 1-18. We will then gather on Christmas Eve to worship and celebrate together.
 Our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight services will be a wonderful service of Lessons and Carols as we reflect on the incarnation of Christ and worship our King. There will be two Christmas Eve services, 4:00pm and 5:30pm. Please make plans to join us and invite your friends and family. (use the attached postcard to invite someone)
On Sundays December 26th and January 2nd, we will continue to look at the advent theme as we study Christ's second advent, the one that we anticipate now.
No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known. (John 1:18 ESV)

Preparation for Worship

How is God calling you to serve in the local church? How do you plan to support the worship and work of the church in the new year?
The Lord is blessing Cornerstone! We are growing in numbers and ministry. As we continue our mission to be a community of Christ's followers who worship, grow and serve together ... how will you serve?
In the new year we will restart an old ministry program that we are excited to bring back called FOUNDATIONS. This ministry takes place on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:15pm. There will be discipleship opportunities for children, students and adults.
Because of this growth, will you consider serving either on Sundays or Wednesdays in the new year?

Announcements
Christmas Brunch: Come celebrate Christmas together during the Sunday School hour this Sunday, December 19th with a fellowship brunch in the Family Life Center. This is a potluck-style event, and you are invited to contribute to the brunch tables! Go to the signup at the following link to see what dishes are requested. Christmas Brunch Sign Up
Christmas Eve Services - We will celebrate the birth of our Lord on Christmas Eve with services at 4:00pm and 5:30pm. Please invite family, friends and neighbors to join us for our annual candle light service.
Church Office Holiday Schedule - The church office will be closed Friday, December 24th and Monday, December 27th - Friday, December 31st.
Yearly Giving - Please remember in order for your contributions to be posted in this year they will need to be postmarked by December 31st.
Sunday School Schedule - No Sunday School December 26th & January 2nd.
Nursery Volunteer Opportunity - Please consider volunteering in the nursery December 26th and January 2nd. We are in need of 5 volunteers for each service. Please email christina@cornerstonehuntsville.org or go by the check in center in the nursery to sign up.
FOUNDATIONS - Will return on Wednesdays beginning February 2nd. Please make plans to join us for food, fellowship and discipleship for the whole family.
Officer Nominations - Nominations are open until December 31st.
Student Ministry
Roots Retreat: Students, please join us again this year January 21-23 for Providence Presbytery's 7th Annual Roots Retreat! We're going back to Camp ToKnowHim for a weekend of Christ-filled fellowship and discipleship. The cost is $90/student and includes a shirt. Scholarships are available.
