Dear Church Family and Friends,

It has begun! The contractor and equipment are on site and work is beginning for the remodel in the main church building. It has been a long journey to get us to this point but God has been faithful and good to lead us each step of the way. Thank you for your prayers, your generosity, and your labor to get us to this point.

This Sunday will be a little different as we navigate all the construction activities and resume Sunday School. Please be sure to follow the signage around campus and avoid areas that appear off-limits.

With a new school year beginning we also have lots of new discipleship opportunities starting up for the whole family. Please be sure to read the announcements below to see how you can sign up and register for these offerings. Please reach out to the staff if you have any questions.

Finally, this Sunday we will conclude our sermon series this summer in the Psalms with Psalm 72. Beginning August 20th, we will be back in our verse-by verse-exposition of The Gospel of God: Paul's Epistle to the Romans. I'm looking forward to our time back in this rich treasure that is the book of Romans. It is a pleasure to study God's Word with you so that we can learn and grow and serve as followers of Jesus Christ.

See you Sunday!

by His grace and to His praise,

Pastor Wilson

Construction has begun in the main building!

Important Instructions for This Sunday

Dear Cornerstone Family,

We are looking forward to our second Sunday of worshipping in the Family Life Center! Renovation work has begun in the main building, so you will notice things like plywood covering sidewalks and floor protection in the lobby....please walk over those with care. You will notice that a few parking spaces are now occupied by necessary equipment for the renovation. Please walk around and not through that area in the parking lot.

Here are a few instructions for Sunday:

  • Worship services will continue to take place at 8:30 am and 11:00 am.

  • Communion will be served this week.

  • For Sunday School, the Pathfinders will remain in the Family Life Center, the Builders will be in the Fellowship Hall, and the New Members Class will be on the 2nd floor in the Builders classroom. All other classrooms are the same.

  • Parents, please personally take your children to Sunday School. There will be a crosswalk designated to safely cross from the FLC to the main building. The most direct path to Sunday School is to go up the steps, cross through the lobby and proceed to the far door on the East side of the building, then enter that door and go up the stairs. You can also pass through the fellowship hall/nursery area and use the middle staircase. The elevator is also available. If you are coming to Sunday School first and then the second service, simply proceed directly to the far east door from the parking lot.

  • Adults going to Sunday School upstairs should be able to access the first staircase at this time to get to the classrooms on that side of the hall for this Sunday....but eventually, that path will not be accessible.

  • The bathrooms that are being renovated on the first floor are not available. Both of the upstairs bathrooms are available at this time, as well as the family bathroom on the first floor across from the nursery.

  • Sunday School will dismiss at 10:40 am to allow extra time to get between buildings.

  • The nursery will still be in the main building. Parents, please enter at the entrance on the far side of the main building. The lobby/narthex is available as a way to "pass through" from the FLC and get to that entrance. There will be deacons present in the main building throughout the morning to assist you.

  • There will be designated parking for those with mobility issues close to the Family Life Center. There will be a parking lot attendant to help guide you to those spaces. The Family Life Center has an accessible ramp to go into the building as well as a ramp inside to get from the lobby area to the gym.

  • The hospitality time will take place in the Family Life Center lobby after the first service and coffee will be available there. You are welcome to bring coffee into the gym. There will also be coffee available in the Fellowship Hall (Builders Class) and in the New Members classroom.

  • There is a room available in the Family Life Center with rocking chairs if there are restless little ones during the service. This room is set up for children 4 and under, who must be accompanied by a parent in the room.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact us.

Thanks!

Pastor Brian
