Dear Church Family and Friends,
What an amazing summer we have had a Cornerstone with lots of activity. From VBS, to General Assembly, to Joni and Friends Family Retreat, to RYM, to Yakama, and now for a season of flexibility as we begin construction and renovation! The Lord has been gracious and generous to allow us to do these things and sustain us through them.
If you did not get a chance to learn about everything happening with the construction and renovation, please click here. This Sunday will be our last Sunday to worship in the sanctuary until renovations are complete. Please be in prayer as all of the logistics continue to make this a reality.
We will be giving other updates as information becomes available. Please also be in prayer for the leadership stewarding this transition. Pray for the contractors and professionals helping us to achieve the goals. Pray for our congregation as we make adjustments during this season.

Communion - We will observe communion this Sunday, July 30th.
Construction and Renovation Update - On August 6th, worship services will move to the Family Life Center (FLC) for a season due to renovations in the main church building. Worship services will still be at 8:30 am and 11:00 am. Be sure to check out cornerstoneabounding.org for the latest updates.
FLC Move Workdays - In preparation for moving worship and other church activities to the Family Life Center (FLC) ahead of construction, the Deacons will be holding a workday on Sat, 29th July 2023 starting at 8:00 am. There is a significant amount of repairing, cleaning, and organizing that is required, and we need your help to prepare the FLC as our primary use space. Additionally, after 11:00 am worship on July 30th, as many able-bodied folks as possible will be needed to move chairs and some furniture over to the FLC. Back-to-School Bags - Collecting school supply donations and baked goods for teachers and staff at Blossomwood Elementary on July 31th at 9 am. Please drop off items in the designated clear bin in the Gathering Room no later than 9 am on July 31th. To sign up for item slots, please click here. FCA PLT Conference - Power Leadership Training Conference for 6th-12th graders on August 4th-5th at the VBC, hosted by Northeast Alabama FCA. Featuring Tim Tebow, Dr. Jay Strack, with music by KB and North Point Worship! For more information and to register, please click here.
Youth Lake Day - On August 6th, we will have a youth lake day for junior and senior high from 3-7 pm at the McClures’ lake house! Join us for food, fellowship, and a fun day at the lake! 129 Malibu Circle, Scottsboro, AL 35769.
Joint Sunday School - On August 6th, join us in the Family Life Center during the Sunday School hour as we hear reports and stories from the summer mission trips.
New Members Class - Begins Sunday, August 13th, during the Sunday School hour in the Family Life Center. The class will be for 6 weeks. This is an opportunity to learn more about Cornerstone and to pursue membership. Please email office@cornerstonehuntsville.org to register.
InFocus Bike Donations - Many UAH international students live in apartments and do not have a good way to travel to and from campus. If you’d like to donate a bike for the annual bike raffle for these students on August 19th, please contact Seth Waldecker at seth@paradigms.net by August 5th. The primary need is for adult bikes.
Fall 2023 Foster Parent Training Class - Beginning September 12th, Lifeline Children’s Services will have foster parent training classes at Asbury Church from September through November 14th in the evenings. If you’re interested, please click here to register.
Journey Groups! - Men, are you interested in joining a small group? Journey groups are forming this fall. This is a great way to help you grow in your walk with Christ and be encouraged by other men. Please contact Bob Boerner at bob@vantageconnect.org to learn more.
