Dear Church Family,
The Cornerstone inaugural voyage to RYM was a success! Last week we took 22 students and 5 chaperones to Laguna Beach Christian Retreat in Panama City Beach Florida for Senior High RYM. The days were filled with morning seminars on various topics that students could choose from followed by lunch and free time in the afternoons. Students enjoyed swimming in the pools, trying to ride the ocean waves and an almost successful attempt at building the Saturn 5 rocket in the sand! At night, we worshiped together with hundreds of other students and leaders and were led in a series on the faithfulness of God by Pastor Will Nettleton. The large group time was incredible. We learned how God has been faithful even through the tragedy of the fall and our rebellion, how He has pursued us in Christ, and the hope we have as we await Christ's return.
Thank you for your prayers. This was a sweet week for our student ministry. I trust God will use it to continue to bear fruit in the hearts and lives of our students in the coming days.

Communion - We will observe communion next Sunday, July 30.
Construction and Renovation Update - On August 6, worship services will move to the Family Life Center (FLC) for a season while renovations take place in the main church building. Worship services will still be at 8:30 am and 11:00 am. Be sure to check out cornerstoneabounding.org for the latest updates.
FLC Move Workdays - In preparation for moving worship and other church activities to the Family Life Center (FLC) ahead of construction, the Deacons will be holding two workdays on Sat, 22 July 2023 and Sat, 29 July 2023 both starting at 8:00 am. There is a significant amount of repairing, cleaning, and organizing that is required, and we need your help to prepare the FLC as our primary use space. Additionally, after 11:00 am worship on July 30th, as many able-bodied folks as possible will be needed to move chairs and some furniture over to the FLC. Women’s Live Flower Guild Demo & Workshop - Tuesday, July 25 at 9:30 am in the sanctuary by guest speaker Lisa Edwards. Lunch will be provided. The workshop portion costs $20. Back-to-School Bags - Collecting school supply donations and baked goods for teachers and staff at Blossomwood Elementary on July 31 at 9 am. Youth Lake Day - On August 6, we will have a youth lake day for junior and senior high from 3-7 pm at the McClures’ lake house! Join us for food, fellowship, and a fun day at the lake! 129 Malibu Circle, Scottsboro, AL 35769.
New Members Class - Begins Sunday, August 13, during the Sunday School hour in the Family Life Center. The class will be for 6 weeks. This is an opportunity to learn more about Cornerstone and to pursue membership. Please email office@cornerstonehuntsville.org to register.
Journey Groups! - Men, are you interested in joining a small group? Journey groups are forming this fall. This is a great way to help you grow in your walk with Christ and be encouraged by other men. Please contact Bob Boerner at bob@vantageconnect.org to learn more.
