Dear Cornerstone Family,

On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed a document called the “95 Theses” to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, and the Protestant Reformation began to spread throughout Europe.

Looking at the picture below, it seems that a modern-day Martin Luther found his way to Cornerstone and nailed a document to the door of the Children's Assembly Room!

Children, be on the lookout for a special visitor during Sunday School this Sunday.

As we continue our own study of Romans, be encouraged by this quote from Luther, as he describes having his eyes opened to the truths of Scripture in regard to justification by faith:

“Then I began to comprehend the ‘righteousness of God’ through which the righteous are saved by God’s grace, namely, through faith; that the ‘righteousness of God’ which is revealed through the Gospel was to be understood in a passive sense in which God through mercy justifies man by faith, as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’ Thereupon I felt myself to be reborn and to have gone through open doors into paradise. The whole of Scripture took on a new meaning, and whereas before the ‘justice of God’ had filled me with hate, now it became to me inexpressibly sweet in greater love.” — Martin Luther

See you Sunday!

Pastor Brian
