Dear Cornerstone Family,
Beginning on June 10th and running through the 14th, our denomination will hold its General Assembly. The General Assembly is the top "level" of the PCA and the work performed during Assembly week involves various issues that affect the running of the denomination as a whole.
There are three levels (called "church courts") in the PCA:
1) The Session - The Session is made up of the Senior Pastor, all Associate Pastors, (both of whom are Teaching Elders), and all Ruling Elders of a particularized Congregation like Cornerstone.
2) The Presbytery - The Presbytery is made up of all the Teaching Elders (including Assistant Pastors like yours truly) in a geographical locale, as well as Ruling Elder commissioners from the various local churches in that same locale. The Presbytery we are in is Providence Presbytery and it covers all of North Alabama. Our Presbytery meets four times a year and performs work affecting all of the churches in this area. 3) The General Assembly - The General Assembly is made up of all Teaching Elders throughout the denomination, as well as Ruling Elder commissioners from all the local churches in the denomination.
This year, John Bise, Mark Hundscheid and I will be traveling to Richmond, VA to attend the General Assembly and assist in conducting business that affects the entire denomination. Please also pray that the PCA would continue to abide by its founding motto: "Faithful to the Scriptures, True to the Reformed Faith, and Obedient to the Great Commission.”

Pray for our expectant mothers - Kayla Few (August) and the McMillan adoption.
Praise God for the birth of Mildred (Millie) Joy Hitt, born to Matthew and Olivia on Wednesday, June 5.
Pray for the PCA General Assembly in Richmond, VA this week.
Pray for ongoing construction projects and also our church neighbors.
Pray for peace in Israel, Ukraine, and Sudan.
Pray for our Missional Partnerships - Rodney and Jana Davila, Missionaries to El Salvador and Valley Presbyterian Church, Madison, AL (Rev. William Plott).
Announcements
Thank You! - Thank you to all who volunteered, brought donations, and prayed for VBS. We had a great week learning from God’s Word together and were able to donate generously to our missions partner, The Forgotten Initiative.
Junior High 30/60 - This Sunday night from 6:30-8 pm in the FLC gym. We will have 30 minutes of teaching and 60 minutes of games. Snacks will be provided. Bring a friend!
Junior High Pool Party - This Wednesday night at the Honeywell home from 4-7 pm! The invitation is for rising 6th graders - 8th graders. Contact Chris Moody or Morgan High for details.
Creative Arts Ministry - Beginning June 12, Creative Arts will be meeting weekly on Wednesday mornings at 10 am. We are quilting and knitting baby items to donate to Huntsville Pregnancy Resource Center. No experience needed! Contact Suzann Dolan at Sdolan73@aol.com with any questions.
Women’s Summer Bible Study - Registration is now closed for the women’s summer Bible study beginning June 11. Please contact Heidi Honeywell at heidi@cornerstonehuntsville.org with any questions.
Side by Side Books Now Available - While Pastor Wilson is on sabbatical this summer, he invites you to read a book along with him called Side by Side - Walking with Others in Wisdom and Love by Ed Welch. You can purchase a copy in the Gathering Room for $7.
Open Positions at Lincoln Village Ministry - Our local missional partner, Lincoln Village, is currently hiring for three open positions. Please visit their employment page here to view the job descriptions and apply.
Northeast AL FCA Summer Camps & Events - Northeast AL FCA has several ways for students to get active in a Christ-centered environment through their summer athletic camps and leadership conferences. Please click here to learn more about these events and register your child.
Manna House Serve Days - There is a great opportunity to plug in and serve the community with Cornerstone folks on Thursdays at the Manna House. Anyone can come for any amount of time between 1-6:30 pm.
Benevolence - If you are in need of financial assistance or other needs due to hardship, please see a deacon or contact needs@cornerstonehuntsville.org.
Ministry Opportunity - Interested in reaching out to our church members who need help with minor home improvements or repairs? If so, contact David Hoover at ddhoover53@gmail.com for more information.
Bookshelf Ministry - The church resource bookshelf is currently located on the second floor between the balcony and the adult Sunday School rooms. There are some great free books and resources there!
