Dear Cornerstone Family,

June got off to quite the start with Vacation Bible School, the Yakama mission trip, and the PCA General Assembly! Thank you for your prayers and support for the church during these initial weeks of summer as these ministry and mission opportunities that have been prepared for throughout the year come to fruition. In a little over a week, on June 23, the Joni and Friends team will depart for family camp for the fourth consecutive year, serving families affected by disabilities. The following week we'll see our high school students and leaders going to the RYM (Reformed Youth Ministries) conference in Panama City, FL (July 1-5).

Pray for church members caring for family - Diana Akridge, Susan Dupré, Kyle Mosier, Randy Petcher, and Mike and Carol Wellfare.

Pray for healing - Suzi and Bill Bolton, Phil Freeze, Earl Myers, Gayle Ricks, Ruby Petcher, Marc Goldmon, Risha Hoover, and those sick and suffering. 

Pray for our homebound friends - Ruby Petcher and Betty Baldwin.

Pray for our expectant mothers - Kayla Few (August) and the McMillan adoption.

Praise God for the birth of Benjamin Michael Honeywell, born to Brandon and Hayley Honeywell this week. Proud grandparents are Mike and Heidi Honeywell.

Pray for ongoing construction projects and also our church neighbors.

Pray for peace in Israel, Ukraine, and Sudan.

Pray for our Missional Partnerships - Lincoln Village Ministry and Village Church, Huntsville, AL (Pastor Alex Shipman).


Announcements

Joni & Friends - The Joni & Friends team will be commissioned at the 8:30 am service next Sunday before they depart for camp. There is a team meeting in the Jr. High room today at the beginning of the Sunday School hour.

Guest Preacher - Next Sunday, June 23, we will welcome Dr. Randy Thompson to the pulpit. Dr. Thompson is honorably retired in our Presbytery, having recently served for 22 years as the pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Tuscumbia, AL.

Combined Sunday School - Next Sunday, June 23, we will have a combined Sunday School class for students and adults in the sanctuary. Seth Lewis, missionary to Ireland, will be our speaker.

Side by Side Books Now Available - While Pastor Wilson is on sabbatical this summer, he invites you to read a book along with him called Side by Side - Walking with Others in Wisdom and Love by Ed Welch. You can purchase a copy in the Gathering Room for $7.

Open Positions at Lincoln Village Ministry - Our local missional partner, Lincoln Village, is currently hiring for three open positions. Please visit their employment page here to view the job descriptions and apply.

Manna House Serve Days - There is a great opportunity to plug in and serve the community with Cornerstone folks on Thursdays at the Manna House. Anyone can come for any amount of time between 1-6:30 pm.

Benevolence - If you are in need of financial assistance or other needs due to hardship, please see a deacon or contact needs@cornerstonehuntsville.org.

Ministry Opportunity - Interested in reaching out to our church members who need help with minor home improvements or repairs? If so, contact David Hoover at ddhoover53@gmail.com for more information.

Bookshelf Ministry - The church resource bookshelf is currently located on the second floor between the balcony and the adult Sunday School rooms. There are some great free books and resources there!
