10. Seminars. At Cornerstone we strive to be Word-centered in all that we do. In worship and in Sunday School we are committed to teaching and learning the Scriptures. Foundations will be another time for us learn together in a different format. We plan to offer seminars on different topics that matter for the Christian life.9. Women's Bible Study. For the past few years an evening Bible study for women has been held at one of our members' home. To make this ministry more convenient for our women who are unable to attend the Tuesday morning Bible study, we will now be offering the evening Bible study on Wednesday nights during Foundations.8. Youth Group. The Junior High students will gather for youth group during the Foundations meeting time. Senior High youth group will continue to meet on Sunday nights and those students will have the opportunity to serve the children or participate with the adults on Wednesday nights.7. Kids. We will have a robust program for our children to learn the great truths of the faith through the catechism. There will also be music and games for the kids. This will be an important time for our children to build their "foundation" in the faith.6. Childcare. A nursery will be provided for our families so that our families with small children can enjoy the evening.5. Serve. One of the great opportunities we have at Cornerstone is the opportunity to serve in ministry and to serve one another. If you have not found an area to serve, consider serving our children, help to serve a meal or even help clean up!4. Manageable. "I am so busy, I can't add another thing to my schedule." Not to worry, we have designed Foundations to be manageable for the yearly rhythms of life. We will not meet in the summer or around any major holidays. We will begin August 24th, break for Fall Break on October 5th, begin again on October 12th and be done before Thanksgiving. This gives us a nice pattern of meeting for six weeks, break, meet for six more weeks and then break until next year! In the Spring we will observe a similar pattern.3. Timing. The dinner line will open at 5pm and close at 6pm but you can come anytime you want. The earlier you come, the more time we get to see you! We will be done by 7pm so our families with small children can get home for bed and students can finish their homework.2. Food. Gail Kimrey and her team are working on a great menu for our families to enjoy a good meal together once a week. And best news for many of our families, you get the night off from cooking! And the Number 1 reason to attend Foundations is.........1. Family. A core value of our church is being a family. A family needs to be together, eat together, worship together, learn together, pray together. Foundations will enhance our family time together. This is a great opportunity to bring friends and neighbors to church to enjoy a meal, fellowship, etc. In addition, being together as a body is just plain fun! There might even be a Gaga Ball game or two going.
