Dear Church Family and Friends,

These last six weeks have been exciting as we begin enter into a season of refreshing out ABOUNDING vision. As most of you know by now, the Session sent out a letter and held small groups discussions with our Sunday School classes to lay out a vision for us to “abound” at 1413 McClung. The Session believes that our vision should now be to move our long term planning to McClung and to use all the resources that the Lord has provided to invest in the future here. This would include master planning for additional buildings and other site improvements to further our mission to be a community of Christ’s followers who worship, grow, and serve together to glorify God in Huntsville and throughout the world. Visit cornerstoneabounding.org to learn more.

A congregational meeting will be held on November 20th to vote on this new strategic direction. A notice was issued to the congregation on Thursday, November 10th.

Please be in prayer for this exciting time. Please pray for your leadership - that we would make wise decisions. Pray for our ministry - that we would fulfill our mission to glorify God. Pray for our church body - that we would abound in thanksgiving!

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:6–7 ESV)

Additionally, not only do we want to abound in our potential for improvements to our facility and property, but we want to abound in our outreach to the community. There are some very specific things that I am excited about that are opportunities for us to do this!

  • Beginning a Good News Club at Blossomwood Elementary School! We are still in need of team members to see the announcement below to join the team.

  • Starting a Luke 5 Adventures chapter at Cornerstone.

  • Advent at Cornerstone! I love Christmas and Christmas at Cornerstone is one of my favorite times of year. Consider inviting someone to join us during the holiday season as we celebrate the birth of our Savior.

  • Taking a group back to serve at Joni and Friends Family Retreat this summer. Stay tuned for more info!

  • Taking a group to serve with Sacred Road Ministries on the Yakama Indian Reservation. Stay tuned for more info!

  • And more!

These are just a few of the ways you can join in and help. May God help us to be a community of Christ’s followers who worship, grow, and serve together to glorify God in Huntsville and around the world.

See you Sunday!

By His grace and to His praise,

Pastor Wilson
