Dear Church Family and Friends,

One of the chief values of Cornerstone is Missions/Outreach. As our mission statement reads, we want to be a church that serves our community. As we are now settling into our new home, we are beginning to take steps to be more intentional about reaching out and serving our community here in Huntsville. This past week, we took a major step in this initiative by beginning a Luke 5 chapter here in Huntsville.

This Sunday, we will take another step as we highlight another initiative that will be starting in the new year and that is a Good News Club. A Good News Club (GNC) is a ministry of CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship). This club is located in elementary schools, YMCAs and other community centers around the country. A GNC is like a small VBS that takes place after school, one day a week. It is our hope that Cornerstone will lead the effort to begin a club at Blossomwood Elementary School in the new year.

Work has already begun to build a team who will lead this effort. If you would like to be a part of team please contact office@cornerstonehuntsville.org. This team is open to teens and adults. Currently, we are praying for a team leader. If you feel led by the Lord to be a part of this team, or to be the team leader, please let us know.

This Sunday, November 6th, the Rev. Jim Simoneaux, the local director for CEF, will be with us during both worship services. He will share more information and have a table with more information and a sign up to be a part of the team.

To learn more about Good News Clubs, please watch the brief video below.

See you Sunday! I’m looking forward to fulfilling our missions to be a community of Christ followers who worship, grow, and serve together in Huntsville!

By His grace and to His praise,

Pastor Wilson

Child Evangelism Fellowship. CEF is a Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living. Cornerstone is hoping to partner with CEF to start a Good News Club at Blossomwood Elementary School. Good News Club® is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship in which trained teachers meet with groups of children in schools, homes, community centers, churches, just about anywhere the children can easily and safely meet with their parent’s permission. You can learn much more by visiting cefonline.com. In the meantime, we are praying that God would raise up a leader and a group of missionaries from Cornerstone to lead this effort. If you are interested and would like to know more, please contact the church office at office@cornerstonehuntsville.org
