Dear Church Family and Friends,

Today is Good Friday? Why do we call it "good"? ... How can something so awful, so tragic as a crucifixion be considered good? ... It is because the death of Jesus Christ on the cross is THE central event in the story of redemption. "For God so love the world that He gave His only Son." (John 3:16). "God did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all." (Romans 8:32)

Tonight we will remember, reflect, and worship the LORD during our Good Friday Communion Service at 6:00 pm. Please prepare your heart for this important service. Also, please keep a few things in mind. First, there will be a special offering for the Deacons' Benevolence Fund. Twice a year, a special offering is collected to fund benevolent activities in our congregation and in the community. Second, at the service, we will depart in silence as we somberly reflect on the crucifixion.

BUT! Jesus says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy.” (John 16:20–21) Our sorrow today WILL turn to joy on Easter morning, for it is Resurrection Sunday! We worship a risen Savior who always lives to intercede for us. Jesus was delivered over to death for our sin, but He was raised to life for our justification! (Romans 4:25) The resurrection is our hope! Please join us Easter morning to worship our risen King Jesus!

We are expecting a sizeable crowd this Sunday at both services and the brunch in between. Please consider carpooling as a family if at all possible. Please also be on the lookout for visitors to welcome them and show hospitality.

He has risen! He has risen indeed!

See you Sunday!

by His grace and to His praise,

Pastor Wilson

Preparation for Worship

This Sunday's Sermon:

Psalms of the Messiah: The Glorious King

Psalm 24

On Easter, we will be introducing a hymn that will be new to some of you called "Christus Victor" by the Gettys. We will sing it as an offertory on Palm Sunday and then will sing it together congregationally Easter Sunday and beyond. It is a wonderful hymn highlighting the Kingship of Christ. In the sermons, we will hear from the Psalms how Jesus is the Messiah King (Psalm 118), the Forsaken King (Psalm 22) and the Glorious King (Psalm 24). This hymn will help us as we sing these wonderful truths!
