Pastor's Corner - Pray for VBS!

Dear Friends,This next week Vacation Bible School will blast off at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. There is still time to register. This is a great way to reach out to friends and neighbors. Click here for all the information.Over 70 children and 40 volunteers will assemble to participate in this important week in the life of our church. It is important that we be in prayer for the children and the leaders so below are four ways you can pray for VBS.
  1. Pray that God would be glorified and that children will grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.  (2 Peter 3:18 ESV)
  2. Pray that God would strengthen the leaders and equip them with godly wisdom for discipling the children. Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.  (Hebrews 13:20–21 ESV)
  3. Pray that the children would grow in their salvation.  Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.  (1 Peter 2:2–3 ESV)
  4. Pray that those who hear the Gospel for the first time would be converted.  In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.  (Ephesians 1:13 ESV)
Thank you for praying.  See you Sunday!Your friend and pastor,Wilson
Preparation for Worship - June 24, 2018
  • This Sunday's sermon: "God Is Our Refuge:  Bending the Ear of God"- Psalm 5
  • In preparation for the sermon We may wish for our prayers to be polite and polished but if that is what we are going for then “we have no business messing with the Psalms. Prayer must often have a hard edge about it, because it has to deal with evil. There’s a ruggedness about true biblical piety.” - Dale Ralph Davis
