Pastor's Corner - Easter Hope

Dear Friends,

At the end of A Charlie Brown Christmas, Charlie Brown finally gets his answer to what Christmas is all about when Linus reads the Christmas story from Luke 2. And, of course, Christmas is all about a Savior being born who is Christ the Lord.

But what is Easter all about?

That is the question we should ponder this weekend as we think about Christ and His last week on earth.

The answer to this question is actually packaged quite beautifully for us in Romans 4:25.  “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”  (NIV11)

That one sentence gives us the true meaning of Easter - it is about Jesus dying as a sacrifice of atonement for our sins and the power of God to raise Him from the dead for our justification. At the heart of Easter is justification.  Justification is an act of God's free grace, wherein he pardons all our sins, and accepts us as righteous in his sight, only for the righteousness of Christ imputed to us, and received by faith alone (WSC 33).

That is what we celebrate this weekend! That is why we will meditate and worship Christ our Lord for His life, His death and His RESURRECTION!

Please join us this Friday for our annual GOOD FRIDAY COMMUNION SERVICE at 6:00pm.

On Sunday, we will have two services - SUNRISE SERVICE, 7:00am at the downtown church property and Easter Service, 10:00am at our current building.

Christ has risen! He has risen indeed!

See you Friday ... and Sunday!

by His grace and to His praise,

Wilson
