Pastor's Corner - Communicants

This week during the worship service we have several children coming forward to take membership vows and join the church. These children are called communicants because they have gone through the church's Communicants Class. The students spent about eight weeks with me and one of their parents going through basics of faith and learning what it means to take communion and how it is a wonderful means of grace. All of these students worked hard and have demonstrated robust faith in Christ and are ready to make their profession of faith public! Please be in prayer for these young brothers and sisters in the Christ. Pray that:
  • that they would grow in the grace and knowledge of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).
  • that they would hold fast to the Scriptures that they have learned from their youth (2 Timothy 3:14-17).
  • that they would love the Lord their God with ALL their heart and love their neighbor well (Matthew 22:37-40)

Below are some helpful articles to help us think through raising children in the Lord and encouraging them in their faith. I hope you will read them.See you Sunday!Your friend and pastor,Wilson

Preparation for Worship - February 4, 2018
  • This Sunday's sermon: "Jesus's Message to His Church: Dear Ephesus..."  Revelation 2:1-7
  • In preparation for the sermon:  “I know thy works.” It is Jesus that knows them. Now, does this make you quake —does it make you fear —does it make you tremble from head to foot, to think that the eye of Christ is upon you, that He says, “I know thy works?” Why should it? Because when Jesus says to you, I know thy sin; you should say to Him, I know Thy sufferings. When He says to you, I know all thy wants, that thou hast many; then you should say to Him, I know Thy fullness. When He says to you, I know that thou hast got little strength; then say you to Him, I know that Thou hast got all strength —that Thou art Almighty. - Robert Murray McCheyne
