Pastor's Corner
Dear Church Family and Friends,
I am really excited about the next few Sundays at Cornerstone! All of Sundays are great of course ... but we are going to get to experience and participate in some wonderful things in the life of our church starting this Sunday.
First, it is has been some time since we have regularly had missionaries or our missional partners visit us on Sundays to give us a report for us to learn how we can pray and support them. This past Sunday it was a blessing to learn about the new church plant in South Huntsville and meet Adam Venable. This Sunday we will have a visiting MTW missionary who is ministering in a sensitive area and therefore, we can not publish his name or location, but come this Sunday and you will get to meet him and here about how God is using the Gospel to reach a people who so desperately need it.
Additionally, this Sunday, we will have the opportunity to witness two baptisms: an infant baptism and a believers baptism. It is a wonderful day when we get to witness both of these types of baptisms and participate in this means of grace and sign of the covenant. The Westminster Confession of Faith 28.4 teaches that "Not only those that do actually profess faith in and obedience unto Christ, but also the infants of one, or both, believing parents, are to be baptized." For those of us who are baptized, witnessing a baptism is an opportunity to remember our own baptism, to repent of ours sins against the covenant with God; to ask God to stir up our faith; to improve and make right use of our baptism, and of the covenant sealed between God and our soul. Finally, next Sunday, October 31st, is REFORMATION SUNDAY! It is the Sunday we remember God's grace in moving the church toward Reformation under the Five Solas. We will observe yet another means of grace as we celebrate the Lord's Supper together. It is our custom to observe this sacrament every 2nd Sunday of the month and each month that has a 5th Sunday. Let us celebrate the festival!

New Members Class - If you are interested in membership or learning more about Cornerstone, please join us on Sunday morning during the Sunday School hour beginning November 7th. The class will meet for five weeks in The Gathering Room. Please register by emailing office@cornerstonehuntsville.org .
Nursery volunteers needed - God has blessed us with many special children and we need your help to shepherd them on Sundays. A wonderful opportunity to be a part of this, is by volunteering in the nursery on Sunday's. You can sign up on Sunday in the nursery or email our Nursery Coordinator Christina Wendorf, at christina@cornerstonehuntsville.org
Women's Ministry Event - All ladies are invited to join Cornerstone Women's Ministry on Wednesday, November 17th from 7:00-8:30pm as we enjoy a Jesse Tree Party! The Jesse Tree is a wonderful way to celebrate the incarnation of Christ and the whole story of the Bible with your family each Christmas! The party will be at the Family Life Center located at Cornerstone Church (address is 1413 McClung Ave.). Find more info about the party and register online. This event is limited to 25 women due to the need for every woman to make 25 of one ornament. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. We can't wait to enjoy this special time together as we prepare for the Christmas season! Email Julia King with questions.
