Pastor's Corner

Dear Church Family and Friends,
              We are excited to host the first Cornerstone VBS at our new facility next week!  This is a wonderful opportunity for children to hear God's Word proclaimed and enjoy times of worship, crafts, recreation and of course, snacks! The theme of this year's VBS is "Space Probe".  We will be learning about our magnificent Creator and Savior. Each year at VBS the children learn about a missionary or missions organization that Cornerstone supports.  During the week they collect donations to support that mission. This year our missions emphasis will be the Huntsville Pregnancy Resource Center. There will be a collection throughout the week of funds, as well as several items (newborn onesies, receiving blankets, baby toys, pacifiers, burp cloths, towels, wash cloths, bottle sets, knitted or crochet newborn sized baby hats) to donate to HPRC. If you would like to help by donating items you are welcome to drop them off during the week. 

As we look forward to this week together, you can pray in the following ways for VBS: 

- Pray for all involved to marvel at the wonder of our Creator and Savior
- Pray for children to grow in their faith in Christ
- Pray for strength and wisdom for the many adult and student volunteers
- Pray for the Huntsville Pregnancy Resource Center

VBS Hospitality Room -  We would love to provide yummy snacks for our volunteers while they love and serve our children during VBS. Snacks can be left in the gathering room where coffee is served on Sunday mornings. To sign up to bring snacks please go to this link.  VBS Snacks 

Vacation Bible School June 6-9th THIS WEEK!!! -  “Space Probe” Ages 4 through completed 5th grade.  Drop off starts at 8:45am open assembly in the sanctuary starting at 9:00am pick up at 11:30am.  Go to cornerstonehuntsville.org/events to register your children.

Serving Opportunity with our Covenant Children - God has blessed us with many wonderful children at Cornerstone.  This summer we are in need of volunteers to care for our children in the nursery.  If you would like to volunteer please go to this link to volunteer.  Nursery Volunteer   You may also, email Christina Wendrof if you have questions.  christina@cornerstonehuntsville.org

Bookshelf Ministry - Be sure to check out this resource ministry located in the Gathering Room.  There are free books, tracts and other resources for you to take or give to someone.

Bikes for Students (service opportunity) - There are a few international students at UAH who are in need of a bicycle. There is a need for both women's and men's bicycles. If anyone has an old bicycle that they are willing to donate to InFocus, please contact Seth Waldecker at seth@paradigms.net. Bicycles in need of some repair might also be helpful depending on how much work needs to be done on them. Please make arrangements to drop them off at the church office.

  • Pray for church members caring for family - Lora Abernathy, Mike Honeywell, Diana Akridge, Bryan Gassaway, Rick McCann, Alan Patterson, Randy Petcher, Mike Bayless, Bill and JoAnn Sneed.
  • Pray for healing - Krissy Sedlack, Mary Allen Junen, Matthew Lawrence, Berin Wendorf, and Kelly Hawkins.
  • Pray for our nursing home resident - Ruby Petcher
  • Pray for our expectant mothers - Anna Hill (June), Amanda Pendegraft (July), Sage Hundscheid (August), Hillary Horner (November) and Kawell (adoption).
  • Please pray for Cobb Alexander and family in the death of his mother this week. 
  • Please pray for the volunteers and leadership of Vacation Bible School.
  • Pray for mercy in Ukraine, Buffalo, NY and Uvalde, Texas.
  • Pray for our Missional Partnerships -Third Millennium Ministries and First Presbyterian Church, Tuscumbia, AL , (Pastor Dr. Randy Thompson).
