FOUNDATIONS has begun on Wednesday nights beginning starting at 5:30 PM.
  • Dinner 5:30 PM until 6:15 PM in the Family Life Center. Meals are available for $5 a person ($20 max per family).  
  • Discipleship at 6:15pm for all ages!

Dear Church Family and Friends,

I wanted to update you on some church news and service opportunities. 

  • Church Security:  Beginning this Sunday, February 6, we will again have uniformed security in the building during the church services and Sunday School hour. We will also have uniformed security for Foundations on Wednesday nights. There are two different Madison County Sheriff Deputies will be serving us. Please make them feel welcome!
  • Lincoln Village Need:  As most of you know, Lincoln Village is one of our local missional partners. They have an immediate need for substitute teachers for their Little Linc Preschool. They offer full day preschool from 8am - 3pm as well as after school help for our little ones from 3-5pm. The children are precious, and whoever subs will leave with a very happy heart! If anyone is interested, they can reach out directly to Ashley Powell at ashley@lincolnvillageministry.com or contact me directly Hillary Horner at 870-830-6998.
  • Men's Dinner, February 27th: Choosing Discernment: Trusting Ancient Wisdom in the Face of Modern Struggles. Menu - Smoked Chuck Roast prepared by Cornerstone’s Famous Cook Team! Cost - $10 each/$20 family max. Register on line at: cornerstonehuntsville.org/mensdinner
Lastly, this newsletter serves many purposes. Not only do we want to keep you informed but also help you prepare your hearts for worship each Lord's Day and know how we can pray for one another. I encourage to keep reading and see how God might be calling you to pray for a serve someone.

Announcements 

Communion will be served next Sunday, February 13th. 

Youth Ministry:

  • Senior High Girls Valentine’s Day party, February 12th, 6:30-8:30pm at David and Jennifer Winebrener’s home (2840 Natures Cove Dr, Owens Cross Roads, AL 35763).
  • Senior High Boys Join us for Fellowship and fun at the Shirley’s House (2956 Elk Meadows Dr SE, 35741) from 5pm-til on February 13th as we watch the big game together! Contact Taylor with any questions! 

Foundations - Continues this Wednesday, February 9th. The meal will be served in the Family Life Center at 5:30 PM. Men's and Women's books studies and discipleship opportunities for all ages 6:15-7:15 PM. RSVP Foundations  by Monday noon.

Women’s Ministry - Bible Study each Tuesday at 9:30am, 2nd floor. Nursery provided for ages infant - 4yr. olds.


Hospitality volunteers needed - If you are interested in serving on the church hospitality team, please contact Jenny Roberts at robertsdj99@gmail.com.

Mens Ministry Event - Cornerstone Men’s Dinner, Sunday, Feb. 27th at 6pm. Presenter - Nathan Eldridge. Topic - Choosing DiscernmentTrusting Ancient Wisdom in the Face of Modern Struggles. Bikes for Students (service opportunity) - There are a few international students at UAH who are in need of a bicycle. There is a need for both women's and men's bicycles. If anyone has an old bicycle that they are willing to donate to InFocus, please contact Seth Waldecker at seth@paradigms.net. Bicycles in need of some repair might also be helpful depending on how much work needs to be done on them. Please make arrangements to drop them off at the church office. 

Bookshelf Ministry - Be sure to check out this resource ministry located in the Gathering Room.  There are free books, tracts and audio teaching CDs for you to take or give to someone.

Lost and Found is located in the hallway across from the kitchen in the main building.

Pray for church members caring for family - Lora Abernathy, Diana Akridge, Bryan Gassaway, Rick McCann, Alan Patterson, Randy Petcher, Mike Bayless, Bill & JoAnn Sneed.

Pray for healing - Matthew Lawrence, Craig Martin, Amy Eckenrode, Bob Boerner, Ed Pendergrass, April DeJong, Earl Ricks, Anna Parks, Terry Ware, Mari Carmen Wendorf, Cate Garner and Cate Trotter. Also those that are sick with Covid and their families.

Pray for our nursing home resident - Ruby Petcher

Pray for our expectant mothers - Julia King (March), Yatang Cohee and Abby Junen (May), Anna Hill (June), Amanda Pendegraft (July).

Please pray for Sam and Hannah Kawell in their adoption process.

Pray for our Missional Partnerships - 60 Feet Ministries in Uganda, and Christ Presbyterian Church, Hampton Cove, AL, Pastor Michael Calvert.
