Dear Church Family and Friends,

Thank you to all who helped send a team of nearly 50 folks from Cornerstone to serve at the Joni and Friends this past week. Your prayers, encouragement, and financial support were a tremendous blessing to us. God was gracious to bless the camp and I got to see first hand how God used the different gifts of men, women, and children to serve in this important kingdom work.

Many of us came away with the hope and prayer that God would continue to use us to reach families affected by disability. I know God is using our desire already to minister to these families.

Here are a few ways that we are and can continue to serve and reach families with disabilities:

  • by helping to support and serve alongside the new Joni and Friends Alabama chapter

  • by continuing to serve at Joni and Friends Family Retreats and other events to serve families

  • by checking out our new Luke 5 Huntsville ministry! This ministry provides inclusive hiking and outdoor adventures for those with disabilities. Hikes are forming now. Contact Dave Winebrener at dave.winbrener@luke5adventures.org if you are interested in being a Sherpa (hiking assistant).

  • by the new renovations that will be taking place very soon in the main church building. A brand new, accessible entrance will be created in the rear of the building as well as parking that is more level.

  • by being on the lookout for families with special needs. Perhaps make room for them in the sanctuary, help them with different tasks, or serve as a buddy to someone who needs special care.

Through seeking out and caring for others with disabilities, these are just a few of the ways God can use us to serve His kingdom right here in Huntsville.

Be sure to check out this video to see our team in action this past week at the Joni and Friends Retreat 2023!

See you Sunday!

Blessings,

Pastor Wilson
