Dear Church Family and Friends,

This Sunday will be my final Sunday in the pulpit as I prepare to go on sabbatical. Thank you for all the support that you have shown to me and my family.

While I am away, I hope to do a lot of reading to be refreshed and encouraged. I would like to invite you to read a book with me. The book I have chosen is called Side by Side - Walking with Others in Wisdom and Love by Ed Welch

As you may be aware, we are striving to raise a team of folks here at Cornerstone who are equipped in Biblical Counseling. The purpose of this initiative is to help us grow in our core value of caring for one another. We all do counseling. Dr. Welch states, “God is pleased to use ordinary people, ordinary conversations, and extraordinary and wise love to do most of the heavy lifting in His kingdom.” To that end, we, the church, are called to love one another and walk side by side with each other. I pray that this book will bless us as a church and help us be the church.

This book is fairly short and can also be read devotionally. I think you will find it encouraging, challenging, and inspiring. We have purchased a case of these books and are offering them to you at a deep discount. Please pick up one in the Gathering Room (available soon).

Finally, this Sunday we will finish our journey through the book of Romans. It has been a wonderful few years of studying this magnificent Gospel with you. I hope you have been refreshed and encouraged as we have been exhorted and challenged by God's Word. I'm sad to leave Romans behind but I know God has much in store for you this summer as the other pastors preach through the Psalms and as we look forward to the Gospel of Matthew in the fall.

See you Sunday!

by His grace and to His praise,
Pastor Wilson
