Dear Cornerstone Family,

This Sunday we are having an exciting congregational meeting, specifically a meeting of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Inc. in the sanctuary at 9:45 am. The sole purpose of this meeting relates to the sale of the Meridian Street property, as outlined in the announcement this past Sunday and the email that was sent to members. While only communing members are allowed to vote and participate in the meeting, attendees and visitors are welcome to stay for this brief meeting, which will be followed by Sunday School. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of the elders or me.

For those who are new to Cornerstone, there are many places that we have called home over our 11 years as a particular church. When we were first particularized, we moved from meeting on Sunday evenings at The Cooper House of Central Presbyterian to a shared arrangement with First Cumberland Presbyterian on Bankhead for a couple of years. Then, for several years we were in a facility off of Old Big Cove R. During that time, we purchased property on Meridian Street with the hopes and plans of one day building there and moving Cornerstone downtown. A generosity initiative called '“Abounding” was launched in early 2020, right before the pandemic began. In early 2021, the Lord redirected us and opened the way for us to purchase and move to our current property on McClung Avenue. In November 2022, the congregation approved the use of Abounding funds for the renovation of our building and the parking lot project, which are ongoing as we continue to make this place our home.

We are thankful for how the Lord has led us in the process and for the Meridian Street property. Although we did not build there, we did worship there on occasion, with outdoor services like the one pictured from Easter 2021 and a Thanksgiving service in 2020. It's part of our story as a church, and we are thankful for how the Lord continues to work here for His glory and our good.

See you Sunday!
