Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Flowering the Cross!

Dear Friends,

As we continue to focus our hearts, our minds, our very lives towards Jesus, we remember He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification. (Romans 4:25 ESV) The crucifixion and the resurrection mean everything!

To remember, celebrate and worship, there will be a Good Friday Communion Worship Service at 6pm. Please make plans to join us as we focus on the cross of Christ. Nursery will be available for the Good Friday Service.

Prepare your hearts with this meditation from the WCF 29:1, "Our Lord Jesus, in the night wherein he was betrayed, instituted the sacrament of his body and blood, called the Lord's Supper, to be observed in his church, unto the end of the world, for the perpetual remembrance of the sacrifice of himself in his death; the sealing all benefits thereof unto true believers, their spiritual nourishment and growth in him, their further engagement in and to all duties which they owe unto him; and, to be a bond and pledge of their communion with him, and with each other, as members of his mystical body."

And then come back Easter Sunday! We will have our normal worship services at 8:30am and 11:00am. There will be an Easter Fellowship Brunch in the Family Life Center at 9:45am.

To prepare for a wonderful Easter Sunday at Cornerstone, we need your help! Here are a few things you can do to help:

  • Arrive early to make sure there is enough seating for your family.

  • Please fill in all seats and make room for other families and individuals.

  • Come in one car per family if at all possible.

  • There will be men in the parking lots on Sunday to assist and drop off will be available at the east entrance.

  • Please click here to sign up to bring items for the Brunch.

This Easter we are starting a new tradition. There will be a large cross in front of the sanctuary in the lawn that will be covered in greenery. We are encouraging everyone to bring flowers from their yard or that you purchase to Flower-the-Cross! This will be a beautiful symbol to remind us of the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord and to show the beauty of the cross to our congregation and our neighbors.

  • Bring any flowers that you like.

  • Please bring your flowers on either Friday, before the Good Friday Service, or Easter Sunday.

  • Simply place the flowers in the cross with the provided structure.

  • As you start this new tradition with your family, remember and perhaps recite the wonderful truth from Romans 4:25.

I'm looking forward to worship with you Friday and Sunday!

For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us therefore celebrate the festival! (1 Corinthians 5:7–8 ESV)
