Dear Church Family and Friends,

Last week we began our study of Romans 3:21-26. What some have called "the most important paragraph in the Bible". We specifically looked at what Paul means when he references the righteousness of God four times in this passage. This week we will study another very important theological doctrine and that is justification.

For the first time in Romans Paul introduces this term justification in his letter to the Romans. It is found in Romans 3:24 which is an important verse. Just as important as John 3:16 for it communicates the same truth.  “and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." Therefore, we will examine in great detail, "what is justification?"

As we prepare our hearts for corporate worship and the preaching of God's Word, let me invite you to think on this question. As you do so, consider studying the Westminster Larger Catechism's teaching on the subject:

Justification is an act of God’s free grace unto sinners, in which he pardoneth all their sins, accepteth and accounteth their persons righteous in his sight; not for anything wrought in them, or done by them, but only for the perfect obedience and full satisfaction of Christ, by God imputed to them, and received by faith alone.

See you Sunday!

by His grace and to His praise,
Pastor Wilson
