Newsletter | September 23, 2022

Dear Church Family and Friends,

This Sunday will be an important day in the life of our church as we fulfill our sacred duty to elect men to serve as officers in the church. The called congregational meeting will take place promptly at 9:45am. Only those who are members of Cornerstone and are physically present are eligible to vote. All seven men being put forward are being unanimously recommended to you by the Session We are grateful for the provision of the Lord!

Lord willing, on Sunday, October 23rd we will hold an ordination service for these men. Details to follow.

See you Sunday!

by His grace and to His praise,

Pastor Wilson

Note for Parents in Preparation for Sunday's Sermon:

This Sunday's passage, Romans 1:24-32, contains content regarding sin and depravity, specifically in regards to homosexuality in verses 24, 26 & 27, that might raise questions for children in attendance.

I will seek to handle the passage with wisdom and tactfulness as we preach what the Scripture plainly teaches, but wanted you to be prepared for any potential discussions. Note that this sermon will examine the passage as a whole, so that the topic will not dominate the whole sermon, but simply will be part of the summary of man's depravity, along with the 21! other sins (see verses 28-30) listed in the passage. The sermon title will be "The Disordered Depravity of Man and the Amazing Grace of God", so ultimately we will see how God rescues us from our sins and saves a wretch like me.

Child Evangelism Fellowship. CEF is a Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living. Cornerstone is hoping to partner with CEF to start a Good News Club at Blossomwood Elementary School. Good News Club® is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship in which trained teachers meet with groups of children in schools, homes, community centers, churches, just about anywhere the children can easily and safely meet with their parent’s permission. You can learn much more by visiting cefonline.com. In the meantime, we are praying that God would raise up a leader and a group of missionaries from Cornerstone to lead this effort.
