2016_cpc_advent_blog_bThou Who Wast Rich Beyond All Splendor: The Wonder of the IncarnationFor you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.  ~ 2 Corinthians 8:9What is Advent? The word advent comes from the Latin word adventus which means “the coming.” The Christian Season of Advent starts four weeks before Christmas and serves as preparation time and celebration for the birth of Jesus. Advent looks back at the incarnation but looks forward to the second coming of our Lord. Advent is all about anticipation. There is no better time to “anticipate” Christ than to spend time in worship. Our advent sermon series will focus on the wonder and mystery of the incarnation—God becoming man. The classic hymn Thou Who Wast Rich Beyond All Spendour captures the beauty of this reality. The Bible is filled with good news about the incarnation. What is the incarnation and why does it matter in life? Join us as we explore these truths this Advent season.
