Newsletter February 21, 2025
Dear Church Family and Friends,
I am excited to share a brief update from our student ministry here at Cornerstone with you! A few weeks ago we took a group of over 70 students and chaperones to the Roots Retreat at Camp ToKnowHim in Pisgah, Alabama. This retreat is hosted by Providence Presbytery each winter and this year was the 10th Annual Retreat. It was really cold, but our hearts were warmed with solid preaching, worship, and fellowship! Our speaker was Marcus Nobles, RUF Campus Minister Associate at Alabama A&M, and he led us in a series about how we come to the waters and find life in Christ. It was encouraging! Thank you all so much for your prayers for this Retreat!
The following week, Morgan High and I went to RYM (Reformed Youth Ministries) Youth Leader Training in Nashville, TN for the week to learn more about how to lead and serve in youth ministry. It was great to connect with other youth leaders from across the country and learn beside them! We sat in seminars on various topics, worshiped, prayed with other youth leaders, and were fed by great preaching in the evenings. I greatly benefited from the seminar on the Philosophy of Youth Ministry, which challenged me to think through our priorities for our student ministry.
Lastly, here are a few ways you can pray for our students here at Cornerstone! Please pray that students will hear the gospel clearly, grow deeper in their understanding of the truth, and learn how the gospel impacts our daily lives and relationships. Pray that students will find community and lasting friendships here at Cornerstone.
Grateful for you!
His Love Never Fails,
Pastor Chris
