Session Update: 12-23-2020

Dear Church Family,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you that the Session has made the difficult decision to suspend in-person worship services through January 3rd. This includes the Christmas Eve services tomorrow night.

Recently we have had some spread among our congregation and we currently have several members with COVID-19. Therefore, out of abundance of caution, we are going to take this pause to ensure there is no further unintentional spread.

We do plan to hold virtual services. The schedule will be as follows:

  • Christmas Eve, 4pm live. Recording available thereafter.
  • Sunday, December 27th, 9:00am live. Recording available thereafter.
  • Sunday, January 3rd, 9:00am live. Recording available thereafter.

Please be in prayer for our folks at Cornerstone and our community as the virus continues to be a threat.

As always, we have printed some special bulletins for the Christmas Eve Lessons and Carols Service. They will be available in a bin outside the church office beginning this evening. Please stop by and get as many as you would like for your family.

Also, the church will be open December 28-29th for regular office hours if you would like to drop off any year-end giving or special giving to the Deacons Benevolence fund.

I am truly going to miss being with all of you for Christmas Eve. It is such a wonderful tradition with our church family. However, as we have learned over and over this Advent season, God often does wonderful things during difficult times. So with that in mind, I pray that the next few weeks are a special time for you and your family.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.”  (Isaiah 9:6–7 ESV)
Merry Christmas,

Pastor Wilson, on behalf of the Session
