Pastor's Corner - What a year!

Dear Friends, The picture above was from last year. An empty sanctuary but kind words and emblems of affection arrayed the entire room! 2020 was a difficult year in many ways. One of the chief ways it was difficult for me, and I know all of you, was the fact that we did not gather corporately for Holy Week.  Well, Lord willing, this year we will gather and celebrate the life, the death and the resurrection of our Savior and we will do so corporately all week long!  It has been such a blessing these last few months to gather again and welcome more and more people back to worship and now Sunday School. I understand even more now what the psalmist meant when he said, “I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!” Our feet have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem!” (Psalm 122:1–2 ESV)  I have a greater understanding by what the writer of Hebrews meant when he said, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24–25 ESV) This year we will gather for worship on Palm Sunday (8:30am & 11am), Good Friday (6pm) and Easter Sunday (10am). On Easter Sunday, we will gather outside at our downtown property for worship and fellowship. Please consider joining us. We would love to see you!  For Holy Week, we will look at different passages from the Gospel of John on the events of Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Jesus's Resurrection. This gospel will be our guide to help us see, understand, worship and celebrate the power of the cross.  Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!  (Psalm 32:11 ESV) See you Sunday! Wilson's Weekly *The Social Dilemma - I highly recommend you watch this drama/documentary if you own a smart phone and use the internet.
