Pastor's Corner - VBS Success!

Dear Friends,

Thank you all for your encouragement last week as I was back in the pulpit and needed to address some serious matters. I am thankful to you who love reformed, expositional, Bible preaching. May God help us as we continue to be not just hearers of the Word but doers!

What an awesome week it has been as Cornerstone hosted its first ever VBS! It was a huge success with around 70 children and 50 volunteers. Special thanks to Lauren Davenport and all the volunteers who made it a special week. Let's continue to pray for our children - that they would grow in the grace and knowledge of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Beginning Sunday, August 2nd, the Session has decided to make a change to the worship service. Announcements will now take place at the beginning of the service. The reason for this change is to ensure that we maintain a spirit of worship throughout the service. Please plan to arrive each Sunday and take your seats by 8:55am for the Prelude and announcement time. We will then promptly move into a time of quiet reflection to prepare our hearts for worship.

Finally, pray for our country. All the news is so discouraging right now. It seems that evil abounds. Let us be on our knees and active in culture. May we be salt and light.

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.” (Titus 2:11-15 ESV)
