Pastor's Corner - New Beginnings

Dear Friends,

I hope that everyone has had a great week and that many of our families have enjoyed their first week back to school.
Just as a new school year has begun, it is also the start of a new season of ministry at Cornerstone. This Sunday, August 10th, is Promotion Sunday. Many of our children will be moving to their new class and meeting their new teachers. I'm so thankful for our teachers and volunteers as there are almost 30 volunteers assisting in children's and youth ministries this year. Let's thank them and encourage them in their service.
We are adding two new children and youth classes to accommodate our growth. The new class divisions are: Preschool (3's & 4's), K-1st, 2nd-4th, 5th, 6th-8th, 9th-12th. The senior high and middle school ministry classes will be located upstairs at First Cumberland and all other classes will be located on the bottom floor. The deacons will be installing new signage that will mark each class room.
Also, by way of reminder, our children and youth are beginning their new Sunday School curriculum this Sunday. I'm excited about the opportunity that our children will have to study all of God's Word and be equipped to walk with Christ. Each week our children will bring home a bookmark that will have a Scripture reference to review what they studied in class as well as a memory verse that would be excellent for families to use to memorize Scripture together.
Remember that we are going to celebrate this new school year at the Churchwide Back to School Ice Cream Social at Greenwycke Pool 3:30 - 5:30. Please RSVP to Gail Kimrey @ kimrey6@gmail.com if you plan to come.
I'm looking forward to this exciting new school year at Cornerstone! See you Sunday.
By His grace and to His praise,
Wilson
