Pastor's Corner - Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Church Family,
Happy Thanksgiving! We have much to be thankful for as a church family. The Lord has done many wonderful things for our church family over this past year and we know He will do much more in the days and months to come. To celebrate this Sunday, right after church, we will gather at Monte Sano Lodge for food, fellowship and fun. Please join us! RSVP to the church office in case you forgot! (office@cornerstone-pres.org).
While I don't want to jump Thanksgiving too quickly, the Advent season is upon us and there are many wonderful things happening in our church family in the coming weeks about which to get excited. I'm looking forward to our Advent Sermon Series on the Songs of Christmas. In Luke 1 and 2 we find four songs that illustrate the expectation, joy and hope of Christmas. I love Christmas music - I could probably sing it all year long. Why is this? Why is music such an integral part of Christmas? I believe it is because the best response to Christmas, the birth of our dear Savior and Lord, is to sing. That is what the angels did - that is what we should do! Join us as we dive into God's Word and study these wonderful songs.
This Christmas season we will also start a new tradition: Cornerstone Family Christmas. On Sunday, December 20th at 6pm, we will gather as a church family for singing and fellowship along with cookies and hot chocolate. Please plan to join us!
See you Sunday!
By His grace and to His praise, your pastor,

Wilson

Worship Notes: November 8, 2015
  • This Sunday we will conclude our series in Hosea. Hosea 14 will be our text. There is much to learn about confession and repentance.
  • In preparation for the sermon:  "Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the LORD are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them." (Hosea 14:9 ESV)
  • A hymn for the week: All Creatures of Our God and King

  • We are podcasting! Catch up on sermons on iTunes.

Wilson's Weekly

  • We are pretty strict about not watching world news around our small children but if your kids are asking questions about ISIS, I recommend this article: click here.
  • It saddens me deeply to know that there are many parents who do not protect their children's time online. If this is something you are convicted about or if you are a grandparent and want to help protect your grandchildren, consider The Circle.
  • Many of the songs that we sing in worship come from Indelible Grace. They have a new album out. Check it out!
