Dear Church Family and Friends,

Merry Christmas! Come, let us adore Him! Christ our Savior is born!

This Sunday will be a whole day of worship and celebration as Christmas Eve falls on the Lord's Day! We will begin the day, as is our custom, with our regular Sunday morning worship with one service at 10:00 am. We will then end the day with our annual Christmas Eve service of Lessons and Carols at 5:00 pm. Please plan to come early, squeeze in, and don't forget to carpool if you can!

As we approach this important day, I think it will be helpful for us to meditate on the incarnation. Many passages of Scripture help us do that, such as Matthew 1, Luke 2, and John 1. Below is a portion of a creed called the Athanasian Creed that was written in response to Arianism, that ancient heresy that taught that Christ was created and not infinite and eternal. Let these words help us all to meditate on the wonder, grace, and love of God in the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ!

But it is necessary for eternal salvation that one also believe in the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ faithfully.
Now this is the true faith: that we believe and confess that our Lord Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is both God and man, equally.
He is God from the essence of the Father, begotten before time; and he is man from the essence of his mother, born in time; completely God, completely man, with a rational soul and human flesh; equal to the Father as regards divinity, less than the Father as regards humanity.
Although he is God and man, yet Christ is not two, but one. He is one, however, not by his divinity being turned into flesh, but by God’s taking humanity to himself. He is one, certainly not by the blending of his essence, but by the unity of his person.
For just as one man is both rational soul and flesh, so too the one Christ is both God and man.

O come let us adore Him! See you Sunday!

By His grace and to His praise,

Pastor Wilson

Christmas Giving Recap: Joni & Friends and Sacred Road Ministries

Thank you for your generosity towards Joni & Friends and Sacred Road ministries this Christmas. Gifts were collected and delivered to several families and individuals in the Huntsville area, and there was even some singing! $1,000 was donated to the Sacred Road Christmas Fund. We praise God for these two ministries and our partnership with them.
